Privacy and Security

Privacy

Your privacy is very important to us at KIWI WOOL . With that in mind, we have established and implemented information handling practices we believe are consistent with the highest standards and best practices of organizations doing business on the internet. This privacy policy describes the practices that apply to our site, including, specifically, the information we collect about you, when and how we collect that information and what may happen to that information.

  • We will not collect personally identifiable information like your name, e-mail and mailing address and telephone number ("Personal Information") without your knowledge and permission;

  • We will not disclose your Personal Information to third parties unless you have authorized us to do so;

  • We will take reasonable steps to protect the security of the Personal Information we collect from you.

Your Personal Information

KIWI WOOL does not collect personally identifiable information on our website, such as your name, address, e-mail address or telephone number, without your knowledge. Such information is collected only when you knowingly and voluntarily submit it to us (as, for example, when you contact us via e-mail). KIWI WOOL uses such voluntarily submitted information for the purposes for which it was submitted.

When you place an order KIWI WOOL will ask you to provide certain information about yourself, such as your name, mailing address, or e-mail address. The personal information you submit when placing your order is treated as confidential. We use this information to process your transaction, and we share the information with Visa, Mastercard, etc. in order to process your order.

We use Cookies

Cookies allow KIWI WOOL to remember you. If we didn't use cookies you would have to enter your details each time you visited. If you really prefer not to use cookies you can set your browser preferences to not accept cookies. Most websites however, including KIWI WOOL, require cookies to process your orders.

Trends, Tracking and Sharing Information

KIWI WWOL uses standard software for monitoring statistical information such as how many visitors we have to our websites and what countries they are coming from. These statistics are viewed on an aggregate basis and help us get general overviews of customer trends. We do not look at individual customer data. Personal information specific to each customer's sales is treated as strictly confidential and will only be reviewed or examined in the event of a dispute, claim, error or customer request.

Security

KIWI WOOL uses stringently tested technologies to ensure the security of information transmitted via our website and maintained in our possession. When you place your order "checkout" you will see a lock icon appear on the status bar of your browser. This indicates that the data that is submitted is encrypted while in transit and so cannot be viewed by anyone other than us. In addition, when we receive that data, it is stored on a separate location to the web server so that it can only be accessed by us.

KIWI WOOL endeavours to provide a safe and secure platform on which to conduct online transactions. www.kiwiwool.nz uses the industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol, which encrypts your personal information as it is transmitted over the internet. This encryption scrambles details such as your password and address so that generally, other computers are unable to decipher the information, ensuring privacy and security. To make sure you are accessing a secure server when you are going through Checkout, look for a closed padlock symbol in your browser window.  In the latest versions of the Chrome and Firefox browsers, this appears before the URL itself in the browser address bar, in Internet Explorer it's shown to the right of the address. If this appears, then SSL is active. You can double-check this by looking at the URL as well. If SSL is active, then the first characters of that line will read ‘https’ rather than just ‘http’. It is important for you to protect against unauthorized access to your password and to your computer.

No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Please ensure you sign out when you have finished visiting www.kiwiwool.nz, especially if you access our website from a shared computer.

If you are signed in when checking out, you'll be given the option to "Save my payment details for next time". When this is selected, an encrypted token is stored, not your actual card details – these will be held in a secure PCI compliant solution provided by Payment Express (DPS).  This token can't be used by anyone else so it's totally secure.  This option is simply provided for your convenience in not having to re-enter your card details every time that you shop with us.  If you choose to use this facility, you give us permission to debit the nominated Credit Card on an agreed basis.  Whether you select this option or not, no actual card details are ever stored by us in any capacity.
